Humus

Categories:

I wanted to visit the Arabic countries for some time, especially when my sister moved there with her husband. After numerous invitations from their side we went to Kuwait. During the week spent there, we tried a wide range of Arabic dishes. Then we headed to Dubai, where I was fascinated by the Lebanese, Moroccan, Egyptian and Iraqi cuisine. Captured by the abundance of spices and mix of flavors I enjoyed humus, lebna, mutabel, shavarma, falafel and many other dishes. I still keep the memories of those magical places and will try to share them with you through the recipes.

Lasagna Bolognese ala Tony

Categories:

Lasagna was the first dish I made more than 4 years ago. Until then I had not even thought about any interest in cooking. I learned this recipe from my mother-in-law, and over time I added new ingredients.
Lasagna is a classic Italian dish in which pasta noodles and filling are placed on layers. You can find many versions for lasagna filling and this gives you the opportunity to experiment with new ingredients and tastes. What I learned from the numerous preparations is that in any case you should use the Bechamel sauce. In most shops you will find two types of lasagna noodles, one that requires boiling and the other are ready to use.  Although the instructions for the first type of lasagna noodles (that have to be boiled) say that a Bechamel sauce Unknown Object should not be used I recommend it in both cases.

Chocolate Truffles

Categories:

Chocolate is a product made from the seeds of the tropical plant Theobroma cacao. One of the main theories is that the plant was grown in the central part of South America specifically in Mexico. The first evidence of producing Cocoa is from 1100 BC. By the 16th century the cocoa and chocolate were not known on the Old Continent when the Spanish conquistadors brought it into Europe. After the industrial revolution, the chocolate becomes more and more popular. But despite its mass production, handmade chocolate is still cherished as an ulitmate delight.

Duxelle soup

Categories:

I found this recipe accidentally and since then it's one of my family’s favorites. The combination of Duxelle, cream, chicken broth and cognac makes it an extremely fine and delicious soup. The main ingredient and most-labor intensive part of the preparation is the Duxelle, but you can prepare it in advance and freeze it within one month of the preparation. Here you can see how to prepare the Duxelle. Five minutes after taking it from the freezer and you will have a delicious hot soup.
